“The best 24 hours of my life”
It’s over - finished - gone. Hans has completed the Bambuser NYC Challenge and has now retired to his hotel to take a very deserved rest - before jumping on a plane back to Sweden later today.
As he said, it was the best 24 hours of his life.
His new BFF Chris Olaya is in a cab, heading back to his home in Queens - keep an eye out for that guy. There’s an undiscovered media star in waiting. Despite spending the night together, Hans insists they’re just ‘good friends’ - although I think I saw a tear form in the corner of his bloodshot Swedish eyes when they departed.
His adventures are too long to mention here … but among his favourites were hanging out at Bob Dylan’s old bar - the views from the Staten Island ferry - cycling around Central Park - the pizza at Grimaldis - punctuated by various bouts of drinking on the way. And let’s not forget the supporting role played by Eva … and the very patchy network coverage that New Yorkers are forced to battle with everyday!
That’s it - somehow we’ve all got to get on with our lives now.
